Beauty of Rwanda is a company that is working to change the lives of impoverished Rwandans. Thus restoring and healing the people of Rwanda. The vision of the company is to sell Rwandan artifacts to people in the west thus so helping all the craftsmen and women of Rwanda many of whom are widows of the 1994 Rwanda genocide against the Tutsi.

Some of our weavers in poverty stricken rural Rwanda are HIV Positive, through the selling of their handwoven crafts , they are able to buy medicine, food, and also look after their young ones. 

Today in Rwanda, genocide widows are weaving baskets alongside the wives of war criminals, and forging their own path to reconciliation - and economic recovery!

Basket weaving has been one of Rwanda's greatest craft, and also critical as a community activity now and  hundreds of years ago.

"The baskets, with their unique form only made in Rwanda, have served many functions in Rwandese history including holding food, celebrating weddings, and carrying secrets from one woman to another."

All our products are handmade. Buying handmade products means buying one of a kind; means buying higher quality; means supporting small businesses and makes a statement.

All of the local artisans, craftsmen/women use local based resources. Environmentally, they aren't relying on gas fueled shipping, as well as foreign harvested raw materials. Buying things locally is more environmentally friendly.
